Matt Oliveira enters his second season as the Bulldogs' Director of Volleyball Operations after two seasons serving as the technical coordinator.
In his prior role as Technical Coordinator, Oliveira assisted in the breakdown of opponents, scouting reports and coding during practice and live matches.
PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE
Oliveira has coached boys and girls volleyball at various levels in the valley for the last 16 years. Before joining Valley Volleyball Academy, Matt coached for Clovis North High School and Central Cal Volleyball Club for nine years. Last year he assisted the 18 National and 14 West Coast teams, helping the 18s to earn the first bid in club history and a first place finish in the silver bracket at USAV Nationals.Â
PLAYING CAREER
Oliveira, a valley native, attended Clovis West High School where he graduated in 2007. He played under Bob McCarth and helped the team to a Valley Championship his senior year. After a year at Cal Poly, Matt returned home in 2008 to continue his education at Fresno State and pursue coaching.
