Nate Leal is in his eighth season as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations and 14th season overall working for the Fresno State men’s basketball team.

Leal started as a student manager before becoming a graduate assistant on the Bulldogs’ staff when Fresno State won the 2016 Mountain West tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

After spending the 2017-18 season as a high school coach, Leal was hired as a special assistant for Justin Hutson, with significant operations responsibilities, which have included a leading role in daily program operations, community service, team travel, practice coordination and other administrative logistics for the program. He was promoted to Director of Operations prior to the 2019-20 season.

Leal earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in coaching from Fresno State in 2015 and then received a master’s degree in sport psychology, also from Fresno State, in 2017.
