Haile Watson totaled six blocks (three solo, three assists) and had eight kills in just three sets to lead Fresno State to a 3-0 sweep at San Diego State to open MW conference play on Friday.
Watson averaged 2.00 blocks per set in the Bulldogs' only match of the week. She had two blocks in each set, including a block on match point to end the Bulldog win. She was also second on the team in kills while hitting .333 for the match and added one dig as she totaled 12.5 points.
Watson helped the 'Dogs win at San Diego State for the first time since Sept. 24, 1999. Fresno State had lost six straight matches in Peterson Gym and was winless at SDSU since joining the Mountain West. The win also gave the 'Dogs a victory in their MW opener for the first time since 2013.
