Bulldogs tie Miners in WAC Road Debut

El Paso, Tex. - The Fresno State Bulldogs fell prey to an angry Miner team, tying utep, 1-1, in its home conference opener friday night in El Paso, Texas.
UTEP scored first when a streaking Katherine McShane found an open Kim Rogers 26-yards out. Rogers long chipped the ball to the right post in the games sixth minute.
Battling back on a narrow and inconsistant field proved tough for the travelling 'Dogs. With numerous opportunities coming from their 11 corner kicks, Fresno State was able to capitalize on one. Off of a Sara Yudin serve, Morgan Oliveira headed the lone 'Dog goal past Miner keeper Amanda Smith in the game's 61st minnute.
The rest of regulation and both overtimes were Bulldog dominated as much as they could be. Stifling the UTEP attack, the 'Dogs held the Miners to 5 shots on goal while Fresno State bombarded the Miner goal with 22 shots.
The Bulldogs will see their next action Sunday when the take on the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa in Oklahoma.
