FRESNO, Calif. - Four Bulldogs scored in double figures and three had double-doubles as Fresno State defeated Bradley 70-60 at the North Gym. FS's second consecutive victory takes its record to 5-4. The Braves drop to 3-5.
Senior center Tiffany Lewis posted her fifth double-double in a row and her sixth of the season with a 12-point, 13-rebound performance. She also added four assists and a devastating block in the first half. Freshman forward Omelogo Udeze also had a double-double, the first of her young career. She scored 12 points and grabbed 12 boards, six coming at the offensive end. Freshman guard Lindsay Logan was the third Bulldog with double digits in two categories. Logan scored 17 points in 38 minutes and her 11-assist effort was a career high. Freshman guard Laura Garcia chipped in with 15 points.
Bradley took an early 7-4 lead with just under 16 minutes to play in the first half. However, the Bulldogs went on a 17-2 run and never looked back. The Braves were able cut the lead to 31-20 on Nyagon Duany?s jumper to end the half. But the second half was more of the same as the Bulldog press prevented Bradley from getting into its offense smoothly. Fresno State forward Amanda Baker led the team with four steals and two blocks while Bradley shot only 37 percent from the floor.
Bradley dropped to 3-5 on the season. BU was led by Duany?s 15 points and Sara Bailey added 12 points.
The Bulldogs will head to Philadelphia next week and compete in the Wildcat PNC Christmas Classic Dec. 29-30.
