Gravatt Takes Second at WAC Meet

Fresno, Calif. - Senior Holly Gravatt (Valinda, Calif./West Covina HS) broke her own school record with a time of 1:03.12 in the 100 meter breaststroke to take second place at the WAC Championships being held in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Bulldogs are currently in seventh place after two days of competition with 182.5 points.
The Bulldogs set two other school records at the championships with the 200 meter relay team of Jesie Lewis, Lena Darnell, Summir Case and Heidi Crompton finishing fifth with a time of 1:35.63 , and the 200 medley relay team of Case, Gravatt, Keri Poate and Lewis swimming a time of 1:45.25 to take fifth place. In the 50 free freshman Lewis was just one-tenth of a second off the school record with her time of 23.80, good enough for ninth place.
Other top-ten relay finishes for the Bulldogs included seventh in the 400 medley relay (3:51.22), and sixth in the 800 free (7:35.75). Individually, Crompton took seventh in the 200 free (1:53.28) and Case finished eighth in the 100 back (57.67).
The 1999 WAC Championships conclude on Saturday, Feb. 27.
