Swimmers Honored at Banquet

Junior Heidi Crompton was named Fresno State's "Outstanding Swimmer of the Year" at the Bulldogs annual year-end banquet held Sunday, March 7, at the Ramada Inn.
Crompton finished the season fourth on the team with 29 top-three finishes, including 10 wins. She was also a member of the Bulldogs' record-setting 200 free, 400 free and 400 medley relay teams. Crompton broke the school record in the 200 at this season's WAC Championships with a time of 1:52.06.
Freshman Joanna Dutkevitch was named the "Outstanding Diver of the Year" after she qualified for the NCAA Zone meet with a score of 375.90 at the meet against UC Irvine in January. Jesie Lewis was the "Newcomer of the Year" after a season where she swam the second-fastest 50 free and third-fastest 100 free in school history. She also notched 23 top-three finishes- the most by a freshman.
Rounding out the award winners were Jamie Milburn (Most Improved), Heidi Olsen (Coaches' Award), Lena Darnell ("Flex" Award) and Amalia Gonzalez (Academic Excellence).
