Fresno State Hosts 1999 USA Softball Women's Festival

Fresno, Calif. - You want an early glimpse of the 15 women softball players who will comprise the 2000 USA Olympic Softball Team?
Bulldog Diamond is the place to be next week when Fresno State hosts the 1999 USA Softball Womens Festival, Thursday -Sunday, June 10-13.
Sixty of the best womens fast pitch players in America will be divided into four teams that will compete against each other over a four-day period. For tickets during the four-day event, please call the Bulldog Ticket Office at (559) 278-DOGS.
Representatives from Fresno State will be a highlight for the San Joaquin Valley as nine current or former Bulldogs will showcase their talents once again.
The three current Bulldogs include pitcher Amanda Scott (Clovis) and outfielder Becky Witt (Reseda), who will be teammates on the USA Navy Team, and infielder Lovie Jung (Westminster) who will play exhibition games against the womens teams as a member of the USA Junior Girls World Team. The six former Bulldogs include outfielder Laura Berg (Santa Fe Springs), infielder Randi Berg (Santa Fe Springs), infielder Nina Lindenberg (Anaheim Hills), infielder/outfielder Kim Maher (Fresno), infielder Julie Smith (Glendora), and catcher Shelly Stokes (Sacramento).
