Womens Tennis: Fichtbauer Named WAC Athlete of the Week

Fresno, Calif. - Sophomore Liesl Fichtbauer was named Western Athletic Conference Womens Tennis Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 22-28 today.
Fichtbauer was undefeated in singles last week in Fresno States 5-4 wins over Tulsa and Washington State in Las Vegas, Nev. Fichtbauer opened the week with a victory over Tulsas Monica Poveda, 6-4, 6-4, and then defeated Washington States Andrea Reisz, 7-5, 6-4, to close out the week. Both victories were at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, Fichtbauer and partner Dora Djilianova upset the nations 15th-ranked doubles team of Erica Perkins and Sarah Burrows of Washington State, 8-3 at No. 1.
Fichtbauer is currently 5-4 overall in singles and 5-4 in doubles with Djilianova.
