Bulldogs Take Alumni to Five Games

Fresno, Calif. - The general public got an early glimpse of the 1999 Fresno State Volleyball team on Saturday evening in the North Gym.
The 'Dogs took the Alumni to five games and defeated the former standouts 16-18, 15-9, 11-15, 15-13, 15-11.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was sophomore middle blocker Shauna McQuaid, who posted 15 kills and hit .450 in the match. For the Alumni, middle blocker Roseanne Brown connected on 14 kills and hit .375.
With the Fifth Fresno State Volleyball Alumni Match being contested this evening, the younger prevailed in the series meetings, 3-2. The Bulldogs have now won the last three straight meetings against their elders after trailing 0-2 in the series.
Fresno State opens the 1999 season on the road at the Nevada/Danka Invitational in Reno, Nev., next weekend, Sept. 3-4.
The Bulldogs will open their home schedule the following week with the annual Fresno State Volelyball Invitational, Sept. 10-11.
