Bulldogs Avoid Sacramento State's Sting

Sacramento - Bulldogs Danny Risch and Hugo Alcaraz each scored in the second half leading Fresno State to a 2-0 victory over Sacramento State and its first win of the 1999 campaign.
After a scoreless first half which saw each team fail to capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities, Risch put the 'Dogs on the board 51:24 into the contest. Risch setup his own shot by stealing the ball away and beating Hornet goalkeeper Chris Haustein. Alcaraz added to the advantage 16 minutes later when he recovered a ball off a failed clear to find net from 15 yards out.
With a 2-0 advantage, the Fresno State stifled the Hornet attack limmiting the squad to six shots on goal. The Bulldogs (1-0-1) will see their next action when they host UI Chicago Sunday at 2 p.m.
