Fresno - The Bulldogs fell to CS Northridge 0-1 Tuesday.
Controlling the tempo throughout much of the match, the ?Dogs out shot CS Northridge 19 to seven while recording eight corner kicks to zero for the Matadors. The lone goal came when Gentry Green found net on a 10-yard blast from the right side in the second half.
With a one goal lead, the Matadors pulled back and played defense. The Bulldogs fired off seven of their 11 second-half shots on goal after falling behind. CS Northridge keeper Tawni Takagi made numerous critical saves in the last fifteen minutes of action as the Bulldogs desperately rallied to even the score.
"We had our chances," Bulldog Head Coach Peter Reynaud said. "They just came too late in the game. We didn?t play with the same level of intensity that we?re used to playing at."
The Bulldogs (2-2-0) will see their next action in Maryland, when they take on UM-Baltimore for the first game of the squad?s east coast road swing.
