Men's Soccer Names Bulldogs' MVP

FRESNO, Calif. - On Saturday, Jan. 29, the 1999-00 Bulldog men's soccer team met for one last hurrah at the Copper River Country Club for the end of the year banquet. It was graduating senior Hugo Alcaraz' day in the spotlight as he said goodbye to the Bulldogs and accepted his Most Valuable Player plaque. Alcaraz also received a plaque for All-WAC honors and Bulldog co-captain honors.
Gabe Provenza received Most Inspirational and a plaque for second team All-WAC honors. Junior transfer from San Diego State Jose Pacheco received Most Improved and freshman goalkeeper Jeremy Proud took home the Coach's Award. Noah Delgado and Kupono Low received All-WAC plaques. Delgado was named to the first team all-conference and Low to the second team.
Several `Dogs were honored for their academic excellence as the Bulldogs pulled in a team Fall semester GPA of 3.1. Danny Risch received All-Far West Scholastic Excellence as well as Fresno State scholastic honors. Matt Heisser, Ryan Katz, Derek Lopez, Garrett Markarian, Curt Posey, Ryan Pourhassanian, and Jeremy Proud also received Fresno State scholastic honors.
