Fresno State Dominates UCI Relay Meet

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs kicked off the spring season with a commanding performance in the UCI relay meet on Sunday. Racing against San Diego State, Denver, Cal Poly and host UC Irvine, the ?Dogs scored 161 total team points pulling almost 100 points in front of the second place team San Diego State with 78 points. UC Irvine scored 58 points, Denver went home with 51 and Cal Poly trailed in fifth place with 22 total team points.
The Bulldogs took first in several events including the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:51.68, the 800 free relay with a time of 7:59.29 and the 200 free with at time of 1:39.75. The ?Dogs also won the 400 free relay (3:38.43) and made their season debut swimming the 3 x 100 Breast taking first with a time of 3:29.27.
The Bulldogs return to UC Irvine on Wednesday to resume their meet action. The ?Dogs take on Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine and UC Irvine in a four-way meet beginning at 2 p.m.
