FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs recorded their second-straight win today as they defeated the Lions of Loyola Marymount (5-4-0), 3-1.
Junior midfielder Noah Delgado (Fremont, Calif.) opened the match by netting the first of his three-goal performance at the five-minute mark. The scoring momentum continued as Delgado took a pass from freshman forward Mat Herold (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) and placed it in the top, right corner. The final and third goal of Delgado's hat trick came in the 28th minute when he lifted the ball over Loyola Marymount's goal keeper Jerad Bailey. The `Dogs finished the match with the hat-trick goals and did not allow a score until the 73rd minute. Bulldog sophomore netminder Jeremy Proud (Auburn, Wash.) finished the match with four saves on five shots.
The Bulldogs improve to 7-1-1 overall on the season. Next week the men travel to Colorado for a two-match road trip. Their first stop is the United States Airforce on Friday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m. Then on Sunday, Oct. 8, the `Dogs round out the weekend at Denver in a 1 p.m. face-off.
