Hello again to all! It is a new year and Coach Chesler and myself are very excited about the Fall 2001 season. As you can see, recruiting went well and we look forward to watching our new 'Dogs play in Bulldog Stadium. We hope to see some of you at our upcoming events and at next season's games-both on the road and in the DogHouse. Coach Chez has put together an exciting 2001 schedule . The 'Dogs will compete against last year's national champion, the University of Connecticut, quarterfinalist, Stanford, No. 1 ranked San Jose State, the University of California-Berkeley, the University of Portland and Gonzaga University, not to mention our MPSF conference play.

Five new alumni have joined the ranks from the 2000 squad: Ron Davis, Dana McGregor, Jose Pacheco, Ryan Pourhassanian and Danny Risch. Risch was recently selected in the sixth round of the Major League Soccer SuperDraft by the Chicago Fire. He has chosen to graduate and receive his degree before joining the team.

Other News:

Fransisco Nuno, coach at Porterville High School has his team in the finals for the Central Valley. Good Luck.
Chris Davini and his wife Christine recently had a baby boy. Congratulations! Hopefully one day he will be a Bulldog.
J.J. Wozniak has signed on with the Stanislaus Cruisers of the U.S.L. Division 3 Pro League, where he will join Eric Farfan-who played with the Cruisers prior to getting hurt.

Currently in MLS training camps this year are:

Brian Johnson with the Kansas City Wizards
Mark Dougherty with the Columbus Crew
David Kramer with the Colorado Rapids
Jake Dancy with the New England Revolution
Along with Risch who was drafted by the Chicago Fire

Kyle Berger continues to play in Germany. He recently e-mailed me and told me his team is four points out of fourth place in the German fourth division. Berger also mentioned that he is looking to get promoted.

Marek Nowaki has returned from Germany and is currently training with different teams, in hopes of landing a spot this year.

This event continues to grow every year. It makes for a good time to catch up with old friends, show your skills, hit the links and support the program you helped to build.
