Sacramento State's chances were dealt a severe blow a mere one minute into the game when its second-leading scorer and top rebounder Sephora Scoubes went down with an ankle injury. Nichole Hardaway stepped up in Scoubes' absence, scoring 14 points until she went down with an ankle injury with 11:30 to go in the second half.
For the fourth consecutive game, Logan scored in double figures. The sophomore led both teams with 17 points and eight assists. High had a career-high 12 rebounds and scored eight points. Also in double figures for the Bulldogs were Chantea Fleming, with 15, and Tiffany Simon, who had 14.
