FRESNO, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers visited the Central Unified Aquatics Complex and dealt the Bulldogs a 128-80 loss giving the `Dogs a 5-1 dual meet record Saturday, Dec. 9.
The meet was truly a battle of David and Goliath, except David didn't come out on top this time. The 16 Bulldogs faced off against the 26 Tigers but did claim 15 top-three finishes in the meet.
Freshman Greer McGettrick (Studio City, Calif.) claimed the second place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.70. Senior Jesie Lewis (Juneau, Ala.) grabbed two second place finishes, in the 100 freestyle (:53.52) and the 50 freestyle (:24.68). Second place also went to fellow `Dogs senior Summir Case (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) in the 100 backstroke (:59.22) and freshman Julian Hill (Bakersfield, Calif.) in the 200 IM (2:12.80).
"We swam strong today," head coach Daniella Irle said. "UOP is a good team and very large and that made it a tough meet for us."
The Bulldogs will take a break from competition for a couple of weeks and return on Saturday, Jan. 6, when they travel to the U.C. Irvine Invitational.
