No. 6 Softball Completes Doubleheader Sweep Over CS Northridge

FRESNO, Calif. - Sixth-ranked Fresno State completed its non-conference doubleheader over CS Northridge with a 5-1 win over the Matadors in the night cap to extend its win streak to five straight.
The Bulldogs, who added to Margie Wright's NCAA career win total to 915, scored five runs on nine hits while CSUN had one run on six hits. Sophomore left-hander Kristen Hunter picked up her ninth win on the season. Senior right-hander Amanda Scott got her third save on the year and ninth of her career.
In the win, sophomore second baseman Lovie Jung went 3-4 with two runs and a RBI. Junior centefielder Becky Witt went 2-4 with a run. Senior first baseman Angela Cervantez went 1-2 and added two RBI.
Fresno State scored three runs in the third and added two more in the fifth. The Matadors scored their lone run in the top of the fourth.
Fresno State will conclude its six-game homestand this weekend with a non-conference match up against BYU on Saturday, March 25, at 1:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will then enjoy a week off before resuming another six-game homestand beginning Tuesday, April 4, with a 6:00 p.m. non-conference doubleheader against Cal Poly.
