FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs head to the Bay this Friday, Sept. 29, to face the University of San Francisco (4-4-2) at 7 p.m.
Fresno State has an all-time record of 9-16-4 versus USF and has lost the last two match-ups between the teams with a score of 1-0 each time. USF is coached by Stephen Negoesco, who is in his 39th season. This will be his final season as head coach. He steps down as the winningest coach in NCAA history and currently has a record of 540-166-66. The Dons return 14 lettermen, but only five of them started more than 10 games. Goalkeeper Scott Spaulding and defender Tim Garlick are two key members of the USF team and are looking to lead the team to a West Coast Conference championship. Last week USF captured the Santa Clara Classic by defeating Cal and UMKC with a score of 1-0 both matches.
The Bulldogs will go into USF with a confident 5-1-1 record on the season.
