Men's Soccer Defeats USF 1-0 In Double-Overtime

SAN FRANCISCO - The Bulldogs recorded their sixth win of the season in double-overtime fashion versus host University of San Francisco (4-5-2), 1-0 on Friday, Sept. 29. Fresno State went into double-overtime for the second-straight match, this time leaving with the victory on a goal by sophomore forward Ryan Katz (Arroyo Grande, Calif.) in the 113th minute. Katz took a lead pass from fellow teammate junior midfielder Noah Delgado (Fremont, Calif.), dribbled past a defender and booted the ball from ten yards out. The match was evenly played as the Bulldogs shot 12 times against the USF Dons' 13. Sophomore goalkeeper Jeremy Proud (Auburn , Wash.) inked the shutout with three saves on three shots. The 'Dogs improve to 6-1-1 on the season. They play host to Loyola Marymount (7-3-0) this Sunday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium.
