TCU Sneaks Past Women's Basketball 74-67

FRESNO, Calif. - Four Horned Frogs scored in double figures, offsetting another solid performance by Omelogo Udeze, as TCU defeated the Bulldogs 74-67 at the North Gym. The loss drops FS to 9-16 (5-8 WAC) while the league-leading Frogs improved to 19-5 (11-1 WAC).
TCU took control of the game from the get-go, nailing seven of its first eight shots in establishing a 10-point lead just five minutes into the game. The Horned Frogs advantaged ballooned to as much as 13 before Fresno State pared it down to 10 at the half.
The Frogs continued to stay hot in the second half, eventually leading by 17 with 7:54 to go in the game. But the Bulldogs didn't back down and cut the lead to single digits with under a minute to play, However, TCU made 5-of-6 free throws in the final minute to seal the victory.
The loss was one of the few times this season Fresno State scored more than 65 points and failed to produce a victory. FS is now 8-2 when scoring more than 65 points and 1-14 when scoring less.
Fresno State was led by Udeze's 21 points and 10 rebounds, the eighth time in the last 10 games she has registered a double-double. Lindsay Logan also posted a double-double, her second of the season, by scoring 15 points and dishing out 10 assists. In her final home game in a Bulldog uniform, Laura Paukert had 14.
As they have all season, the Horned Frogs received a balanced scoring attack, with eight different players scoring. Janice Thomas paced TCU with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Kati Safaritova had 13.
Next for Fresno State is a trip to play Nevada on Sunday at 2 p.m.
