March 13, 2001
Auction PageWhen the Fresno State men's basketball team took on SMU on Feb. 22, the Bulldogs had a different look then they have ever had before. The team donned navy blue jerseys for the first time in school history, and in them defeated the Mustangs 77-64 , SMU's first home loss of the season. Also, Fresno State will be wearing these same navy blue jerseys against Cal and in any other upcoming tournament game in which they are the lower seeded team.
Now, for the following two weeks, gobulldogs.com will be auctioning these very blue jerseys. In addition, each individual's jersey will be autographed by the player who wore it during the game.
But there's more. Two pairs of the game shorts will also be available for bidding, as will two blank navy blue jerseys that will be customized with the highest bidders name and favorite number.
This is a golden opportunity to get your hands on a piece of Fresno State history and fashionable Bulldog merchandise at the same time. After this season, these navy blue jerseys will never be worn again.
Several players' jerseys will be auctioned off. Following are the starting bid prices for each:
$125: Blank jerseys to be customized with highest bidders name and number
$100: Tito Maddox, Demetrius Porter, Shannon Swillis, Travis DeManby
$75: Noel Felix, Andrea Bona, Damon Jackson, Mustafa Al-Sayyad
$50: Game shorts
This live auction will begin Wednesday, March 14, and conclude Friday, March 30. The jerseys of Chris Jefferies and WAC player of the year Melvin Ely will be auctioned at Fresno State's Big Bid on June 2.
