No. 14 Women's Tennis Defeats Boise State 6-1

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 14 Fresno State women's tennis cruised past Boise State 6-1 Saturday afternoon at home. The Bulldogs (12-2) have now won five in a row and ten of the last eleven matches. The Broncos dropped to 15-4 on the year.
Fresno State opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches to win the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead. The Bulldog's Nos. 2 and 3 teams have now each won three in a row, while the No. 1 duo of Simone Jardim and Kim Niggemeyer defeated Boise State's top team 9-7 for their ninth straight doubles win.
The Bulldogs continued to ambush the Broncos, winning five of the six singles matches. Senior Liesl Fichtbauer and junior Ewa Grusiecka each won their respective matches 6-0, 6-0. Jardim, sophomore Kelly Ramirez and freshman Courtney Jantz also recorded singles wins. All-American junior Kim Niggemeyer dropped a 7-5, 6-3 decision at the No. 1 spot for her first loss since Feb. 8.
Fresno State will host No. 11 California on Monday, Mar. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
