Women's Soccer Loses Against Pacific 1-0 In Overtime

STOCKTON, Calif. - Fresno State lost its third straight game Sunday afternoon as they fell 1-0 to Pacific in overtime. The Bulldogs were victimized by a slow start once again getting out shot 13-3 in the first half.
Fresno State was kept scoreless for the second time this season. It was the first time they have gone into overtime this year.
"It was a tough game," said Coach Welp, "We struggled to keep the ball forward and create scoring chances."
Junior Mary-tyler Wahl (Riverside, Calif.) and the rest of the defense was busy fending off 22 shots. Wahl had a season-high eight saves for the Bulldogs.
Pacific scored the game-winner 24 seconds into the first overtime period. Gabby Olivares kicked a deflected ball on the right side of the goalpost.
With the loss the Bulldogs fall to 2-3 on the season. Pacific improves to 5-2 with the win. Up next, the Bulldogs will be at Cal on Friday.
