TULSA, Okla. - Fresno State (2-10, 1-1 WAC) dropped its first conference match of the season Sunday afternoon against Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane (4-5-2, 1-0-1 WAC) got two goals from Julie Twellman to edge the Bulldogs 2-1.
The teams interlocked in a shootout that saw them combine for 39 shots with 22 of them being on goal. The 13 shots on goal by Fresno State was a season-high. Freshman Kortney Lewis (Visalia, Calif.) took five shots with two of them being on goal.
The Bulldogs were only able to score one of their 20 shots, however, as sophomore Koleen Anderson (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) scored her first of the season at the 87:29 mark.
Tulsa's Daniella Fauteux took a game-high 12 shots with six being on goal. She would come up empty, though, as teammate Twellman connected on her only two shots for goals. The first came at the 22:42 mark and the second came at the 55:48 period.
