Cross Country Sweeps in San Francisco

FRESNO, Calif. - The women's team takes the San Francisco Invitational for the second year in a row and the men's team also takes the meet.
Kara June (Santa Maria, Calif.) did it again. She was the top 'DOG and finished first in the women's 6K with her fastest time of the year 21:46. Olga Gutierrez-Nunez (Visalia, Calif.) secured her second place team finish and fourth overall finish for the fourth meet in a row with a time of 22:45. Six Bulldogs finished in the top 15 and all ten Bulldogs finished in the top 50. There were nine teams competing in the women's 6K. Four of the teams the Bulldogs faced last Saturday at the Stanford Invitational.
This is the men's first team win. After being named WAC Athlete of the week, Fernando Cabada (Clovis, Calif.) lead the team and finished second overall with a time of 25:36. Roosevelt Cook (Oakhills, Calif) was the teams second place finisher and third overall with a time of 25:44 . The men's team also faced four of the seven teams last week at Stanford and this week beat Santa Clara University who placed four places above the dogs last week.
