RUSTON, La. (AP) - Gerrod Henderson capped a game-high 28-point effort with a 3-pointer in the final second to lift Louisiana Tech to a 66-63 victory over Fresno State Thursday night.
The final shot came after Fresno's Damon Jackson had hit a 3-pointer to tie the game with 19 seconds remaining. Tech then ran down the clock for one last shot and got the ball to Henderson, who hit from long range with two defenders converging on him.
Lavelle Felton added 12 for Tech (17-8, 11-4 Western Athletic Conference) while Zach Johnson scored 11. Henderson scored 21 of his points in the second half.
Melvin Ely scored 25 to lead Fresno St., which was tied with Tech at 31 at the half. Noel Felix, Matt Mitchell and Jackson each added 10 points.
Fresno State outshot Tech from the field, 41 percent to 38 percent, but Tech held the rebounding edge, 41-36.
