FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Melvin Ely scored 21 points and Damon Jackson added 15 and grabbed 11 rebounds as Fresno State beat San Jose State 72-60 Thursday night.
The Bulldogs (18-12, 9-8 WAC) shot 48 percent in the game, including 7 for 16 from behind the 3-point line. The Spartans (8-21, 3-14 WAC) were led by Phil Calvert's 15 points.
Ely, a senior, was 7 of 12 from the floor and grabbed seven rebounds. Four Fresno State players finished in double figures.
