DALLAS (AP) - Damon Jackson scored 32 points and had 11 rebounds Saturday night, leading Fresno State to an 86-78 victory over Southern Methodist.
Fresno State (17-12, 8-8 Western Athletic Conference) led the entire second half.
Damon Hancock scored 26 points with five assists, and Patrick Simpson had 10 rebounds for SMU (14-12, 9-7). Hancock was 6-of-16 from the field, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range, and made nine of 11 free throws.
Most of Jackson's shots were from outside the 3-point arc. He was 11-of-19 for the day, including 7-of-13 on 3-pointers. He was 3-for-3 on free throws. Melvin Ely added 27 points for Fresno State, and Travis DeManby had 11 assists.
The teams were tied 40-all at the half.
The game was tied eight times, and the lead changed hands 15 times.
