No. 13 Softball Completes Doubleheader Sweep Over No. 10 Pacific

FRESNO, Calif. - No. 13 Fresno State did not loose any steam from its extra inning contest against No. 10 Pacific as the Bulldogs roared out to a 6-1 victory to complete a doubleheader sweep over the Tigers at Bulldog Diamond.
Fresno State tallied six runs on eight hits as junior right-hander Leslie Poole notched her third consecutive win to go to 3-1 on the season.
The Bulldogs had a four-run third inning sandwiched by a one-run inning in the second and fourth innings.
Junior catcher Pam West remained hot from her game-winning hit against Pacific and went 2-2 with a run and two RBI. On the day, West hit .444 (4-9) with one run, one double, one walk and three RBI.
Freshman left fielder Julie Selbicky had a RBI triple to left field in the second inning. In the third with three Tiger errors, sophomore second baseman Pam Perez had a RBI single while West connected for a two RBI single into center field.
Pacific, which fell to 10-5 on the year, had one run on four hits and committed three errors.
Head coach Margie Wright is now 10 wins shy of becoming the first and only NCAA Division I coach to collect 1,000 Division I victories.
The Bulldogs, who just began a 14-game homestand, host Santa Clara on Saturday, March 2 and UC Riverside on Sunday, March 3. Both doubleheaders get underway at 1:00 p.m.
