Another Home Win For Women's Tennis

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs beat out the Lions 7-0 in today's competition, winning all of their matches. In doubles, the Bulldogs easily took the doubles point with the No. 5 ranked duo of Kim Niggemeyer and Simone Jardim wiping out Andrea Lord and Angelina Zdorvytska 8-0. Chloe Carlotti and Lucia Tallo also had an 8-0 finish over Penka Fileva and Jessica Placencia. At the No. 3 spot in the doubles line up, Chantel Wiggins and Kelly Ramirez struggled in the beginning against Edit Pakay and Julie Hladik but came out on top with a 8-4 win.
In singles, Kim Niggemeyer defeated Fileva 6-3, 6-3. At the No. 2 position, Carlotti won 6-2, 5-4 after Pakay retired due to illness at the very end of the match. Jardim wound up with a strong finish against Zdorvytska 6-1, 6-2. Tallo went 6-4, 6-1 against Georgina Dinham at the No. 4 spot. Wiggins quicly finished her match against Placencia 6-1, 6-2. At the No. 6 position, Ewa Grusiecka endured a long battle against Hladik, but eked out a 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (2) win.
The Bulldogs return to the home court on Wednesday against South Alabama at 1:30 p.m.
