FRESNO, Calif. - Vlatka Jovanovic lost in the first round to UC Irvine's Tiffany Chang 6-0, 7-6 (2) in the opening round of the pre-qualifying of the Riviera All-American Tournament in Westwood, Calif.
Sixty-four players competed in the pre-qualifying, and the final eight earned spots in the qualifying for the All-American Tournament, one of college tennis' three grand slam tournaments.
The main draw of the event begins Thursday in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Chloe Carlotti and Lucia Tallo are expected to compete in the event for Fresno State.
