FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team heads south for the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic. Tournament play begins on Friday through Sunday at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.Â
BULLDOG BONES
- Team participating in the tournament are the University of San Diego, U.S. Naval Academy, Loyola Marymount University and Fresno StateÂ
- Tournament scoring for doubles is set to six with a tiebreaker at six-all and singles is best two out of three sets with a full thirdÂ
- Bulldogs' fall slate features six tournamentsÂ
- Fresno State returns one player from its 2025-26 roster and welcomes six newcomersÂ
- The seven-player roster consists of two seniors, one junior and four freshmen.
- Head coach Denise Dy begins her seventh season leading the Bulldogs.
- Julia Deming enters her fourth season on staff and her first as associate head coach.

Dunbar returns for her senior season after leading Fresno State with 13 singles victories during the 2025-26 campaign. In addition to her double-digit singles wins, earned five MW wins, and held two three-match win streaks.Â
EXPERIENCE AT THE TOP
Fresno State added a potential top-of-the-lineup player with the signing of Wiese. The junior transferred to Fresno State following two seasons at Omaha.
Wiese played at the top two singles positions during her sophomore season, posting a 2-4 record at No. 1 and a 14-4 mark at No. 2. She also earned a singles victory in the semifinals of the Summit League Championship.
The Flushing, New York, native received All-Summit League honorable mention recognition and was twice named to the Summit League Doubles Team of the Week in 2026. Wiese arrives in Fresno with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
NEW PATHS TO NCAA's
The ITA Regional Championships and the Pac-12 Fall Qualifier serve as pathways to the 2026 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The top finishers from the two tournaments will earn bids to the National Championship, scheduled for mid November at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.
DEMING ELEVATED
Julia Deming was promoted to associate head coach in August after spending her first three seasons with the program as an assistant coach.
During Deming's first three seasons in Fresno, the Bulldogs produced an undefeated home record against conference opponents, made four appearances in the ITA Top 75 team rankings and earned four All-Mountain West selections.
