FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State dropped an 88-60 decision to Team Concept in the team's first exhibition game of the year on Thursday night in front of 5,112 fans at the Save Mart Center.
The Bulldogs were unable to keep pace offensively, as Team Concept shot a blistering 56.8-percent in the second half and outscored Fresno State 49-36 in the period.
Sophomore Faith Probst (Rowville, Victoria, Australia) led the 'Dogs with 13 points on 5-9 shooting and added four rebounds. Fellow sophomore Nikki Wilson (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in with 10 points and was 4-6 from the field.
Junior Aritta Lane (Aiea, Hawaii) led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds.
Team Concept was led by LaQuanda Quick, who poured in a game-high 23 points and was 5-10 from beyond the arc. Quick was among five players in double-figures, while Felicia Raglund registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.
The teams exchanged leads four times within the game's first 15 minutes before Team Concept closed out the period on a 19-3 run. That gave the visitors a 39-24 lead at the half they would not relinquish.
Team Concept took control in the second half, leading by as many as 29 points. A basket by Lauren Selmon (Norman, Okla.) with 11:30 remaining put the Bulldogs within 20, but that was short-lived.
A three-pointer from Quick extended Team Concept's lead to 65-39 with just over 10 minutes left in the period.
Team Concept shot 48.7-percent overall compared to Fresno State's 36.8-percent clip. The Bulldogs were outrebounded 44-43.
Fresno State plays its final exhibition game of the season on Monday, Nov. 17, against Fresno Pacific at 8 p.m.
