FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State begins its stretch run Wednesday against San Jose State. The Bulldogs are in first place, 1.5 games ahead of Nevada, and own an 18-5 (11-3 WAC) record. However, this game begins a stretch that sees the Bulldogs play four of their final five regular season contests on the road.
The Spartans are 6-15 (3-9 WAC) and come in riding high after their 55-54 victory over Hawai?i on Saturday, a win that snapped the Rainbow Warriors' 24-game home winning streak.
The Bulldogs and Spartans have played 139 times in history, making this rivalry the second-longest in Fresno State history, behind only the 143 times it has played Pacific. The Bulldogs hold a 71-68 lead in the series, including victories in the last eight. Fresno State has not lost to SJSU since the 1998-99 season, when the Spartans won 91-64 at The Event Center.
