Men's Basketball Holds Annual Awards Banquet

FRESNO, Calif. - Damon Jackson was named most valuable player at the annual Fresno State men's basketball awards banquet on Monday night at the La Ryan Event Center.
Jackson, a first-team All-WAC honoree who was second in the voting for conference player of the year, averaged 13.3 points per game to lead the Bulldogs. The senior will forever be remembered among teammates, coaches and fans for his four game-winning shots this year as well as the three-pointers he hit at the end of regulation and overtime in the WAC-clinching win over Nevada, both of which prolonged the game and helped Fresno State win.
Several other awards were presented during the banquet, which was attended by over 600 people.
Following is a list of the award winners, all of which were determined by a vote of Fresno State players:
Most Valuable Player: Damon Jackson
Most Inspirational: Terry Pettis
Director's Academic Award: Travis DeManby, Terry Pettis
Most Improved: Renaldo Major
Best Rebounder: Hiram Fuller
Best Defensive Player: Travis DeManby, Noel Felix
