The loss was the fourth straight for the Bulldogs (3-6-2, 0-2-0 WAC), while the Mustangs (9-2-0, 2-0-0 WAC) have now won four matches in a row to remain atop the conference standings.
SMU's Kim Harvey registered a hat trick in the win, scoring two goals in the second half along with the game's first score in the third minute. Teammate Jill Heinemann also scored twice for the Mustangs.
The Bulldogs were outshot 18-8 in the loss and were limited to just one corner kick in the contest. SMU tallied seven corner kick opportunities.
Trailing 2-0 at the half, SMU increased its lead to 5-0 following Harvey's third goal of the afternoon.
