FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State takes on Boise State on Thursday looking to extend the WAC's longest current winning streak. The Bulldogs are 8-5 (4-0 WAC), have won six in a row and reside in sole possession of first place in the conference. The Broncos are 9-4 (1-2 WAC), and although they have lost two in a row, they remain one of the surprise teams in the league. The game is being televised live on KFRE, with Ralph Wood and Randy Rosenbloom calling the action.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 8-2, including victories of three out of the four games between the two schools since Boise State joined the WAC in 2001. Fresno State is 4-1 all-time in games played in Boise, with one of the wins being when the Bulldogs pulled out a 59-52 grind-it-out decision last year.
Fresno State is currently 4-0 in the WAC, the second year in a row it has began with four consecutive league wins. However, what differentiates this from past 4-0 starts is that the Bulldogs' include two road victories in that winning streak. Last season, Fresno State began with four straight home games and won each before falling in its fifth conference game at Hawaii. This year's 4-0 start is just the third time that has happened since the Bulldogs joined the WAC in 1992.
