FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Ja'Vance Coleman scored 20 points and Mustafa Al-Sayyad added 12 points and 11 rebounds to help Fresno State pull away to a 63-53 victory over Grand Canyon on Friday night.
The Bulldogs advanced to Saturday's championship game of the McCaffrey Classic and will play Mississippi Valley State, a 65-57 winner over South Florida.
Prileu Davis had 16 points and four assists for the Division II Antelopes. Emil Swain added 12 points, and Ryan Nelson had 11.
Fresno State (3-0) didn't seal the victory until Chris Berry converted a three-point play on a fastbreak, putting the Bulldogs ahead 60-50 with 1:24 left.
Berry, one of nine freshmen on Fresno State's roster, finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Bulldogs shot 38.5 percent from the field, compared with 35.1 percent for Grand Canyon, which will face South Florida in the consolation game.
