FRESNO, Calif. - Kirk Snyder scored 17 points as Nevada overcame a poor shooting night to defeat Fresno State 64-55 on Saturday night at the Save Mart Center.
Seven of Snyder's 17 points came in the second half as the Wolf Pack (18-8, 11-5 WAC) remained 1.5 games behind first place UTEP in the conference standings.
Mustafa Al-Sayyad scored a career-high 16 for the Bulldogs (12-14, 8-8), which lost their fourth in a row at home and seventh in nine games overall.
After leading for most of the first half, Nevada fell behind 38-37 early in the second half. But an 11-0 run midway through gave the Wolf Pack the lead for good.
Fresno State got no closer than seven the rest of the way.
Todd Okeson added 11 points and five assists for Nevada, which play its final two regular season games at home, where it has not lost this year.
The Wolf Pack shot a season-low 36.4 percent, including 29.0 percent in the first half, but still led at intermission 29-24.
Nevada was 19-of-29 from the line compared to just 8-of-14 for Fresno State.
In addition to Al-Sayyad, the Bulldogs received contributions from Shantay Legans, who had 11 points and nine assists. Francis Koffi added 11 points and a career-high nine boards.
