Fresno, Calif. - Taking a different approach to the cross country season, the Bulldogs opened by going to two different meets. In the Stanislaus Invitational, the team struggled as some of their more veteran teammates didn't join them for this trip, finishing in 5th place out of six teams. This meet featured some runners that haven't appeared as often competing for the Bulldogs. The top Fresno State finisher was Senior Leah Horowitz, (Claremont, Calif.) who placed 13th overall, with a time of 25:17 over the 6k race. However, Horowitz was the only Bulldog to finish in the top 20, which was reflected in the final team standings. The meet was won by the host, Cal State Stanislaus, with a total of 23 points. They ended up placing all five scoring runners in the top 10. Fresno Pacific came in second with 61 points, followed by CSU Hayward with 102 and Notre Dame de Namur with 106. Fresno State finished with 115 points, four points ahead of last place CSU Monterey Bay.
