FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State shot a 14-under 274 in the first round at San Diego State's Barona Collegiate Cup to stand in second place, one stroke behind current leader BYU. The second round was postponed due to heavy fog and poor visibility at the par-72, 7,088-yard Barona Creek Golf Course in Lakeside, Calif.
Jason Anthony shot a 6-under 66 to stand in a tie for fourth in a field of 100 players. Mark Modglin and Matt Shaw both shot 69 and are tied for 13th. Jon Rosa stands in 25th after shooting 70, and Ryan McDonald is in 62nd with a 73.
Gunnar Avinelis (75) and Nick McClintock (81), both playing as individuals in the tournament, are in 86th and 100th places, respectively.
The second round will resume Tuesday at 7 a.m. with the final round immediately following.
