Game Information
Fresno State begins its longest homestand of the season when the Bulldogs host Norfolk State tonight. At the Save Mart Center for five straight, the `Dogs also will host UC Santa Barbara later in the week before closing out the month with San Francisco on Dec. 29.
The Series
Tonight's meeting is unofficially the second meeting between Fresno State and Norfolk State. The Spartans visited Fresno on Dec. 30, 2000. The Bulldogs posted a 107-80 win but that victory was vacated due to infractions.
Quickie Notes
Fresno State is 2-0 at the Save Mart Center for the second time in three years. Last season the Bulldogs opened their home schedule with wins over Maryland-Eastern Shore and Grand Canyon. As the `Dogs look to match their best home start at the Save Mart Center (4-0, 2004-05 season), they will have the opportunity to equal or better that start when they begin a five-game homestand. At home, Fresno State is averaging 77.5 points and is holding its opponents to 66.5. While three Bulldogs are averaging double figures at home the team is outshooting and outrebounding their counterparts.
In the New Year
Fresno State opens the New Year with Iona on Tue., Jan. 3 before opening Western Athletic Conference action at home against Utah State four days later.
