FRESNO, Calif.- Chelsea Hunt scored a goal in each half and Stephanie Gray added a second-half penalty kick to power San Francisco past Fresno State 3-0 on Friday night at Negoesco Stadium.
Hunt headed in a Jessica Duty free-kick at the 40:54 mark from seven yards and nodded in a cross from freshman Jessica Gaskin at 55:18 from the same range to put give the Dons (1-2) a 2-0 lead.
Gaskin set up the second goal with a steal just outside the penalty box. Stephanie Gray closed out the scoring for the Dons converting a penalty kick at 67:33.
Fresno State (1-2), outshot by a 15-5 count, was led by Kortney Lewis with two shots (both of which were on goal). Cortney Sobrero, Antonea Lugo and Koleen Anderson also registered shot attempts.
The Bulldogs again played two goalkeepers, starting with Jeannette Paine (one goal allowed, two saves) and ending with Angie Larsen (two goals allowed, no saves).
Fresno State next plays at Sacramento State on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m.
