Fresno, Calif. - They act, look and smile alike but these two Bulldogs are not your average volleyball players. The Gera sisters have played the sport together ever since high school and have loved every minute.
"I like playing with my sister. I have played with her ever since I was a freshman in high school," said freshman outside hitter Lacey Gera. "We get along pretty well and we rarely ever fight."
"On the court I actually like playing with her a lot. We get along and I know where she likes the volleyball placed," said redshirt-freshman setter Lisa Gera. You can definitely tell our sizes she is 6 feet tall and I am 5'4 so she definitely bosses me around."
They bring the same hard nose attitude to court day in and day out. They practice like it's the last time they will step on the court and like the tough challenges it brings them.
While the both of them aren't busy being student-athletes they like to spend their time attending San Jose Sharks games. "I like ice hockey. My dad use to have season passes to the Sharks games so we went all the time," said Lacey Gera.
"On winter break we are practically at every game," Lisa Gera said.
With the offensive leadership of Lisa Gera and the hitting power of her sister Lacey these two Bulldogs have many more memories to come.
