Dogs Return Home With 4-0 Record
Fresno State plays Arkansas-Pine Bluff this week in its only game. The Dogs come into the week with a perfect 4-0 record and a stellar average margin of victory of nearly 21 points per game. The Dogs are 4-0 for the first time since the start of the 2004-05 season, when they won their first six games.
Bulldogs Open the Season with Tournament Championship
Fresno State opened the 2006-07 on a great note, winning all three games in their own tournament, the Basketball Traveler's at Fresno State Invitational. Fresno State's average margin of victory in the tournament was 21 points per game. Dominic McGuire was selected the MVP of the tournament by averaging 11.7 points, 10 rebounds and adding 14 blocked shots. Ja'Vance Coleman and Quinton Hosley were also selected the alltournament team.
Ticket Mini-Plans Available for 2006-07 Season
With high expectations for the 2006-07 Bulldog basketball seasons, fans will be able to take advantage of unprecedented ticket options for the Fresno State men's and women's basketball seasons. The Fresno State athletics department introduced four different mini-plans for the upcoming season. Three, five, seven and 10-game packages will be offered. About the Golden Lions
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-2) is coming off a loss at Nevada 82-63 on Saturday night. The Golden Lions were picked to finish fourth in the SWAC preseason poll picking up three first-place votes. ARPB was 13-16 last season and 8-10 in the SWAC. William Byrd, who scored 19 points on 7-13 shooting against Nevada, is the team's top returning scorer at 11.8 points per game. Van Holt is in his fifth season as head coach with a 25-89 record. This is the first meeting between the two schools. Fresno State is 2-0 all-time against the SWAC, having beaten Mississippi Valley State both times, most recently in 2004.
