Bulldogs Tied at Sixth in Food4Less Pacific Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State men's golf is tied for sixth after two rounds at the Food4Less Pacific Invitational in Stockton. The `Dogs fell five strokes behind their first round score to total 575 to tie with Northridge.
BYU (554/-22) increased its lead to five strokes ahead of Charlotte (559). Santa Barbara is in third with 563/-13. Irvine (565) is in fourth place and Rice (572) rounds out the top five.
Freshman Brad Wyatt led the Bulldogs today tied for 18th with scores of 73-70 - 143. Wyatt had four birdies and two bogeys on the back nine to improve his second round score.
Matt Ryan and Matt Shaw both tied for 23rd with a score of 144. Gunnar Avinelis tied for 33rd and Todd Angel tied for 45th after two rounds of competition.
"Today is a little disappointing," said head coach Mike Watney. " We are going to re-group and try again tomorrow."
The `Dogs will compete in the third and final round Wednesday at 8 am in Stockton, Calif.
