Squatch Sighting: One of the premier NBA mascots, Squatch of the Seattle Sonics, will be making a special appearance at the Save Mart Center for one day only, when Fresno State hosts Creighton on Saturday, December 16 at 7 p.m. Squatch will be performing special pre-game and halftime stunts for the crowd and is one of the hottest mascot in the NBA.
Basketball to Visit Children's Hospital: The Fresno State men's and women's basketball teams will be visiting the Children's Hospital on December 12 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Players from both teams will be signing autographs and bring posters and schedules for all the children. This will be a great opportunity for the Fresno State basketball teams to share their experiences with the children.
About the Bluejays: Creighton comes into Saturday's game with a 4-2 record after beating No. 24 Xavier on Saturday in Omaha, Neb. The Bluejays, like the Bulldogs, will only play one game this week. Creighton opened the season with a victory against Mississippi Valley State, before losing its first game to Nebraska. The Jays beat George Mason and Arkansas-Pine Bluff at home, before once again losing to Dayton on the road. Creighton is 0-2 on the road and 4-0 at home. The Jays are led by senior Nate Funk, who is averaging 14.2 points per game. Anthony Tolliver is averaging 13.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while Dane Watts is averaging 8.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. As a team Creighton is averaging 66.3 points per game, while holding its opponents to 56.2.
Fresno State versus Creighton, the Series: Fresno State holds a 0-5 all-time record against Creighton, including a 67-62 loss last season in Omaha in the Bulldogs' ESPN Bracket Buster game. Saturday's game will mark the first time in history that Creighton will visit Fresno. As part of the contract, Creighton had to return its Bracket Buster game from last season.
Winter White Out 2006: Fresno State is looking to "White Out" the Save Mart Center when the Bulldogs host Stanford Tuesday, December 19. Fresno State is asking all fans attending to wear white to the game. The Bulldogs would also like to sell out the Save Mart Center for the first time in its existence. You can purchase a "White Out" t-shirt at the Bulldog Shop for just $5, so get out there and tell your friends!
