FRESNO, Calif. - Jason Anthony shot a 1-over 73 in the second round of Arizona's National Invitational Tournament to move into fifth place with 140 (-4) and lead Fresno State.
Anthony, who was tied for first at one point in Monday's round, is two strokes behind current leader Alejandro Canizares (138) of Arizona State.
"Jason is playing a very solid tournament," head coach Mike Watney said. "He is hanging in there with some very good players from top teams."
Fresno State (289-297 - 586) is tied for 14th in the field that includes nine top-25 teams.
Brian Kelley (143) is now 1-under through two rounds after registering 73 and is tied for 21st. Jonny Rosa is tied for 65th with 76-75 - 151 and Ryan McDonald (76-77 - 153) is in 74th. Matt Shaw (78-76 - 154) improved by two strokes and is in 78th.
